THE KEPLEANS

berlin

Humorous sci-fi novel, 446 pages, part of a series

Vega and Mizar, two aliens from Planet Kepler on a mission to upgrade humanity with new technology, crash land in West Berlin in 1970.Under constant surveillance by their next-door neighbour, U.S. Army Major Matthew, who believes them to be Russian spies, they must take on human identities. Accidentally, they become parents of rebellious teenager Aurora and, themselves, the ‘children’ of her eccentric grandpa, Herr Hahn.As they navigate the horrors of parenting a teen, Vega and Mizar realize that allowing themselves to actually like humans will be their greatest mistake of all.

Eleonora Veninova has a rare comic imagination – she takes a wild premise and finds the human truth inside it, and never lands where you expect. A wholly original voice." – Frank Spotnitz, Writer of The X Files and The Man in the High Castle
